Senior Accountant
Accentuate Staffing has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team in Raleigh. The role is hybrid/fully remote. The employee will need to live in the area to attend occasional meeting and or employee engagements. The Senior Accountant will primarily focus on the general ledger function of the organization. The Senior Accountant will assist in the establishment and enforcement of proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in administering payroll and implementing new finance systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and analyze general ledger account level financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Reconcile all general ledger accounts to include basic budget and variance analyses and coordinate the completion of monthly financial processing.
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports; prepare, review, and post general ledger entries and related adjustments.
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedule; analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital.
- Review data entry coding, approve and post all accounts receivable and accounts payable. Distribute expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
- Review and ensure timely collection and payment of account to/from customers.
- Provide guidance on accounts receivable, accounts payable to other department staff as needed.
- Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system; file all required reports to Federal and State agencies; submit benefits and withholding payments to related parties.
- Maintain system and accurate reporting of the time off system.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of all Association bank accounts.
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a general ledger accountant.
- At least two years of experience in administering Payroll.
- Experience in Great Plains Financial system, or in learning new payroll systems preferred.
- Familiarity with grants accounting or proven ability to learn.
