Accentuate Staffing is assisting a leading Steel manufacturer in the Clayton area who is looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity working 1st shift Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Purchasing Manager will be responsible for purchasing all raw material to meet production and customer schedule needs
- Manager will perform materials estimating and materials inventory functions to meet cost savings, planning, and material flow goals
- Manager will be responsible for order placement, supplier follow up, supplier evaluation, certification, etc.
- Manager will oversee purchasing documentation and tracking information using the company electronic system
- Manager will coordinate with Production to make sure all materials are purchased and shipped in a timely manner
- Manager will develop a purchasing strategy to meet the organizational goals
Requirements:
- Candidates must have 5 plus years materials supply chain management experience OR a BS/BA degree in supply chain management
- Candidates must have purchasing, inventory management, and production planning/scheduling experience
- Candidates must have an understanding of lean principles and processes
- Candidates must have strong computer skills, communication skills, and strong analytical skills
