Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Project Accountant for an engineering client in Raleigh, NC. The Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in both project and financial reporting, contributing to accurate financial management and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Create and submit project-related billings to customers
- Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
- Investigate and document discrepancies and variances
- Create and submit Sales and Use tax returns
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare monthly reconciliations
- Provide variance analysis with explanations
- Performs daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting routines
- Tracks fixed assets and files annual property tax reports
- Assists in budgeting, forecasting and annual operating plan processes
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Familiarity with GAAP especially around revenue recognition as it relates to service industry contracts
- Experience in a service industry with preference given to engineering or architectural experience.
- Expert level Excel skills required
- Strong billing experience
- Data entry and reporting from an ERP system
