Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Part-Time Accounting Specialist.  This role will support the accounting department in managing AP, AR, and collections. This role requires a meticulous and organized individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely processing of invoices, accurate record-keeping, and effective collection of outstanding accounts.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Prepare and issue payments to vendors in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile AP transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
  • Maintain accurate AP records and assist in month-end closing procedures.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Generate and send out invoices to customers promptly.
  • Track and record incoming payments, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Reconcile AR transactions and resolve discrepancies with customers.

Collections:

  • Contact customers to collect overdue payments through phone calls, emails, and letters.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and follow up on commitments.
  • Maintain detailed records of collection activities and customer communications.
  • Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to address billing issues and disputes.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on AP, AR, and collections.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
