Accentuate Staffing is assisting a leading packaging and labeling solutions manufacturer, who is looking for a mechanical test technician to join their team. A skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Test Technician is needed to join the team. This role will focus on assembling machinery, executing tests, collecting and analyzing data, and troubleshooting mechanical systems. You’ll work closely with the engineering team to ensure the reliability and performance of our products meet the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test mechanical units
- Set up and operate test equipment to conduct various mechanical tests (e.g., stress, endurance, thermal) on components, assemblies, and systems
- Troubleshoot electrical control utilizing various testing equipment including multimeters, amp meters, and oscilloscopes
- Prepare samples and configure test setups based on engineering specifications and test plans
- Document test procedures, data, and results; maintain clear and accurate records
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and optimize test procedures
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of test equipment
- Analyze test data to provide insights on component performance and identify potential improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized lab environment
Requirements:
- 5+ years machine assembly experience, machine shop, automotive testing or transferable experience required
- Proven experience building and troubleshooting machine assemblies
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting mechanical testing equipment
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data collection and interpretation
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first mindset
- Basic computer skills, with experience in MS Office Suite
