Accentuate Staffing is assisting a well known commercial real estate company in Raleigh, NC with their need for a Junior Accountant. The Junior Accountant is primarily responsible for select processes for a portfolio of properties. This position will support all positions within the accounting department up to and including financial reporting. This person will report directly to the Vice President of Property Accounting. Communication with other departments and the ability to work within deadlines is integral to this position.
Responsibilities:
- Batch and process weekly check runs for multiple properties within a strict timeline.
- Charge monthly rents, late fees, and miscellaneous charges to individual tenant records.
- Process and prepare daily/weekly deposits for multiple entities as needed.
- Receptive to multitude of various duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
- Assist with tenant ledger changes and make tenant account adjustments as necessary during the month.
- Maintain filing of client records including 1099’s, deposits, and check disbursements.
- Perform lease administration as property leases are signed, extended, or amended.
- Code, review, and approve electronic payables in accounts payable portal if needed.
- Support and communicate with property owners and various departments as needed.
- Assist with annual 1099 process for vendors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills are a definite plus.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task
- Previous experience with Yardi or MRI software is a plus but not a requirement.
- Flexible and able to work within time constraints and deadlines.
- Team player that is respectful and professional.
