Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for an HR/Payroll & Benefits Administrator for our small but fast-growing client in Raleigh.   The HR/Payroll & Benefits Administrator is responsible for payroll & benefits administration; as well as assisting with Human Resource functions. This individual will need to promote and maintain the company’s mission, values, and culture. They will need to provide exceptional communication and service to employees.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely, accurately, and compliantly processing the payroll.  Audit & process payroll documents. Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc.
  • Processes employee time & attendance data to payroll & reconcile variances.
  • Prepare & maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Maintains paid time off records.
  • Develops in-depth understanding of Payroll Software & HRIS (Human Resource Information System). Create reports on demand.
  • Assist employees in registering for or resetting access to online portal.
  • Responsible for all post payroll submissions, including 401k & HSA reporting as well as maintaining the HR/accounting payroll portal for reporting.
  • Maintain vendor contact for payroll

 

Benefits Responsibilities:

  • Administer all employee & volunteer benefit programs such as medical, HSA, dental, vision, life insurance, accident & critical illness, disability programs (short-term & long-term), retirement programs (401k), i-9/e-verify, retirement notifications, workers compensation and life insurance
  • Organizes financial wellness sessions/events in support of employee financial education and well-being. Collaborates wealth management & learning to ensure employees have the opportunity to plan/prepare for the future.
  • Completes annual reporting for employee benefits: ACA, 401k, Workers Comp, unemployment, etc.
  • Provides benefit support to HR partners (vendors, team members, and management).
  • Develop in-depth understanding of HRIS and all vendor enrollment systems & websites. Create reports on request

 

General HR Responsibilities:

  • Respond to employment verifications and surveys as needed.
  • Ensure all required reporting, forms, and posters are up to date & maintained accurately.
  • Participate in developing Human Resources department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Monitor and manage the HR helpdesk tickets with accurate, timely and appropriate responses to employee inquiries.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Provide initial screening of applicant pools, as well as phone screens or interviews when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to hiring managers regarding recruitment and selection processes as well as interviewing.
  • Initiate screenings (background, drug, employment, etc.) based on internal and/or client hiring requirements and conduct employee eligibility verifications (E-Verify and I-9).
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain the organization structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, maintain and update HR policies and standard operating procedures, as needed.
  • Assist in managing the organization’s performance management program, to include communications, training, and monitoring.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree required
  • 2+ years’ experience working as an HR Professional required
  • 2+ years’ experience with full payroll processing required
  • CPP certification preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, HRCI certifications preferred
  • Strong oral & written communication skills
  • Excellent judgement & decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
