Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to join a general contractor in Morrisville. As the Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for managing the company’s fleet and drivers while providing logistical support. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong organizational skills and a background in fleet management.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance: Ensure that all fleet operations adhere to the laws and guidelines set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Stay up to date with FMCSA regulations and implement them within the fleet operations.
- Driver management: Assist in the recruitment, rewarding, and termination processes of drivers. Conduct annual reviews, provide disciplinary coaching when necessary, and organize team building activities to foster a positive work environment.
- Vendor negotiations: Negotiate rates with external vendors such as maintenance and repair services, fuel suppliers, and other service providers to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Route planning: Efficiently plot routes for the fleet, taking into consideration factors such as distance, traffic conditions, fuel consumption, and delivery timelines.
Requirements:
- Education: A high school diploma is required, while an associate’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: 2-3 years of related experience in fleet management or a similar field is desired.
- Analytical mindset: Possess an analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively communicating with drivers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
