Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement environmental health and safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions
• Prepare detailed reports on findings, recommendations, and corrective actions – Provide training to employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and hazard recognition
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements
• Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices
• Coordinate Wastewater program and Industrial Hygiene program

Requirements:

• Masters Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
• 5-10+ years proven experience as an Environmental Health and Safety Officer in a GMP facility
• Professional certifications preferred: CSP and or CIH
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and training purposes
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage inspections, audits, and documentation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Previous food manufacturing background a plus
• Experience with combustible dust preferred
• Candidates must be able to achieve Radiation Safety Officer Certification within 60 days
