Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Database Developer/Architect to join a growing Insurance company located in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing SQL statements as well as designing and maintaining MS SQL Server databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance. Responsibilities:
Database Management and Maintenance
- Create T-SQL stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, and other objects that assist in the implementation of business rules/logic
- Create and maintain:
- SSIS packages
- SSRS reporting
- SQL Agent jobs
- OLAP cubes
- Design and develop relational database models/schemas
- Develop ETL processes
- Design and make recommendations to improve current processes and overall platform
- Perform DBA related activities such as optimization, index rebuilds, clustering, etc…
- Query performance tuning
- Generate ad-hoc queries
Database Compliance and Disaster Recovery
- Collaborate with stakeholders on requirements gathering, testing, and implementation
- Create and maintain documentation as well as source control
- Perform DBA related activities such as database security and backups
- Improve/optimize Disaster Recovery data model
- Follow IT guidelines according to best practices
Development and Support
- Provide other IT support when needed
- Provide knowledge transfer to other IT member
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of Microsoft BI Technology (SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS)
- 5+ years developing with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- In depth understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, methodology and data architecture
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Familiarity with Agile Development methodology
- Organize and prioritize individual workload in order to meet required deadlines
- Work as a member of a team, accept ownership of work and actively contribute in team discussions
- Experience in the Insurance industry is a plus
- Experience in XML, AS400, .NET, C#, Java, shell scripting, and Object-Oriented design are also a plus
- Communicate effectively with team members, team leads, and management
