
Cost Accounting Manager
Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager for our client in Cary, NC. The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing global cost accounting to include inventory management and analysis, standard cost reviews and maintenance, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forecast preparation, cost and inventory reporting, plant and toller metrics and performance analysis, month-end close, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and review or preparation of general journal entries throughout the month to maintain balances according to GAAP.
Responsibilities:
- Support of the day-to-day cost accounting functions of the organization.
- Oversee month-end close process and preparation of general ledger account analysis relative to inventory and cost of goods.
- Review cost-related account balances.
- Assist in various operations related analysis including but not limited to production KPI’s, COGS analysis, margin analysis, capacity utilization, etc.
- Monitor the company’s inventory, including cycle and physical counts, tracking, and valuation.
- Oversee and post all relevant journal entries including month-end accruals and capitalized costs.
- Prepare supporting schedules and projections for AOP and forecasts.
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions to improve financial performance.
- Assist with the preparation of audit reports and inquiries.
- Oversee cost accounting staff. Support Director, Finance Operations in operational, control, and reporting needs relative to fixed asset transactions.
- Design, oversee, and maintain reporting files to support the Plant Managers, CMO, CFO, and other Leadership Team reporting requirements.
- Complete special projects as assigned to support finance organization.
- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
- Assessing current accounting operations and month end close process, offering recommendations for improvement and new processes to accelerate overall close timeline while maintaining accuracy.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 7+ years Accounting experience
- 3+ years’ experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- High level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficiency with PowerBI
- Oracle experience preferred
- Proficiency in cost accounting systems, reporting, and analysis
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize independently
- Self-motivated with a focus on process improvements
- A keen customer service mentality
- Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment
