Accentuate Staffing is assisting a manufacturer who is looking for an EHS Assistant to support the Environmental Health and Safety team in implementing and maintaining EHS programs and initiatives. This is a 16-18 week contract role, working 1st shift hours. Flexibility to work a split shift to cover some 2nd shift hours is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs and policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, and help develop corrective action plans.
- Support the EHS team in conducting training sessions and workshops for employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Lead safety meetings and continuous improvement EHS initiatives
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS Manager.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 3 + years’ experience in an EHS role with a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment .
- Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify hazards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work up to 10 hours a day and weekends as required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
