Accentuate Staffing is assisting a manufacturer who is looking for an EHS Assistant to support the Environmental Health and Safety team in implementing and maintaining EHS programs and initiatives. This is a 16-18 week contract role, working 1st shift hours. Flexibility to work a split shift to cover some 2nd shift hours is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs and policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, and help develop corrective action plans.
  • Support the EHS team in conducting training sessions and workshops for employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Lead safety meetings and continuous improvement EHS initiatives
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS Manager.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 3 + years’ experience in an EHS role with a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment .
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify hazards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours a day and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
