Collections Specialist
Accentuate Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Specialist to manage and execute business-to-business (B2B) collections for one of our clients in Cary, NC. The ideal candidate will focus on collecting outstanding payments from insurance companies, adjusters, and other corporate clients. This role is vital to maintaining the company’s cash flow and requires excellent communication skills, persistence, and a deep understanding of B2B collections processes. This is a direct hire opportunity with a fast paced growing organization.
Responsibilities:
- Account Management:
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts, primarily consisting of insurance companies and adjusters, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate smooth payment processes.
- Collections:
- Execute collections strategies to recover outstanding balances, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor aging accounts and proactively follow up on overdue invoices through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels.
- Negotiate payment terms and arrangements with clients, ensuring all agreements are documented and adhered to.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, including communications, payment promises, and follow-ups.
- Prepare regular reports on collection activities, outstanding balances, and cash flow projections for management review.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all collection activities comply with federal and state laws, as well as industry-specific regulations, particularly in the insurance sector.
- Stay informed on changes in relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in B2B collections, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Experience working with insurance companies and adjusters is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of collections practices, credit management, and account reconciliation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting software and CRM systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle difficult conversations and resolve conflicts.
- Understanding of relevant legal requirements and industry regulations.
