Accentuate Staffing is assisting an established manufacturing company in the Apex area recruit for a Buyer to join their team. This is a 6 month contract opportunity, with the possibility to turn into something long term.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet business objectives
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions
- Utilize inventory control systems to manage stock levels and ensure timely availability of materials
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 3+ years experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
- Familiarity with contract management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using ERP systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred
