Accentuate Staffing is working with a healthcare company that is hiring an AWS Data Engineer to build efficient data pipelines in the cloud to handle complex healthcare information. This organization leverages data to connect people in North Carolina with the proper care and resources, improving health outcomes while reducing costs. The company is located in Raleigh, NC, and is looking for a North Carolina resident who can work remotely.

Overall, your day-to-day will involve building and maintaining the data infrastructure that effectively manages and analyzes healthcare data. We are looking for candidates with AWS experience who can build secure data pipelines using Python and PySpark. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to collaborate with leadership on a data modernization project.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AWS tools like Glue (Python/Scala), S3, Lambda, and Redshift to build secure and optimized data highways for healthcare data.
  • You’ll craft clean, well-documented code, following best practices and data security policies and procedures.
  • Design, code, test, and document to ensure top-quality data pipelines.
  • You’ll work seamlessly with project managers, vendors, business partners, end-users, and the infrastructure team in our hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment.
  • You’ll design software with a keen eye on downstream data usage and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record of 4+ years designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines. Bonus points if you’ve tackled complex healthcare data!
  • Experience building and managing data pipelines on AWS, including:
    • Design and develop data pipelines using Glue’s ETL capabilities in Python or Scala.
    • Storing and managing large datasets efficiently in S3 buckets.
    • Leverage Lambda functions for data transformation or orchestration.
    • Design and manage data warehouses using Redshift Serverless for data analysis.
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented code and adhere to best practices, including version control with Gitlab.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments, managing deliverables and holding yourself and the team accountable.
