Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant for our client in Raleigh. This is a newly created role due to growth. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with excellent benefits and a great work culture that promotes work-life balance.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely reporting and financial statements. This position reports to the CFO, and is in our Raleigh, NC office.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting functions including, but not limited to: GL maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales/use tax returns, and payroll
- Ensure that customer invoices are collected on in a timely manner
- Manage month end close procedures and ensure timely and accurate closing results, including coordinating with other departments to ensure accuracy of input data
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
- Work with external tax preparers to provide requested information for tax returns
- Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the annual financial statement audit
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
- Complete special projects, as requested
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, CPA license strongly preferred,
- Minimum of 8 years of related work experience
- International experience a strong plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting software systems, and agility in learning new software
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups and charts
- Ability to work independently and to carry assignments to completion
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
