Senior Buyer
Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Senior Buyer for a manufacturing client in Oxford. The Senior Buyer plays a critical role within the purchasing team, focusing on sourcing and purchasing quality products to meet the business’s operational and manufacturing needs. This role involves managing a specific subset of parts, ensuring supplier quality, negotiating terms, and tracking orders for timely delivery. The Senior Buyer works closely with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and make strategic purchasing decisions, utilizing analytical skills and market expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze inventory levels and forecasts to align purchasing decisions with sales and manufacturing demand.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing, and secure competitive terms with suppliers.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and consistent quality.
- Conduct quarterly supplier reviews to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage procurement records, reports, and key performance metrics to track and enhance processes.
- Approve invoices for payment and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and USMCA compliance.
- Oversee foreign import/export logistics, including container and LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience.
- Experience working in an ERP/MRP environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills to evaluate inventory, demand, and supplier options.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and terms.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance, including HTS and USMCA requirements.
- Experience in managing procurement processes and supplier performance reviews.
