Benefits Specialist
Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Benefits Specialist to work onsite Monday-Friday in the RTP area. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring our workforce receives comprehensive, competitive, and compliant benefits packages. This role involves working closely with employees, managers, and benefits vendors to coordinate enrollment processes, respond to inquiries, and maintain accurate benefits records. The ideal candidate is proactive, has strong communication skills, and possesses a deep understanding of benefits administration processes.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary resource for employees, answering questions about benefits, processing enrollments, making changes, and providing ongoing education and guidance.
- Manage the annual open enrollment process, collaborating with insurance brokers to prepare communication materials, leading employee meetings, and supporting Workday-based enrollment.
- Accurately process benefits enrollments, modifications, and terminations, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Work with external benefit vendors, brokers, and insurance carriers to resolve issues and maintain the smooth operation of benefits programs.
- Perform regular audits of benefits data, ensuring all information is accurate and addressing discrepancies as needed.
- Assist in developing and refining benefits policies, procedures, and strategies to improve the overall employee experience.
- Stay current on industry regulations and benefits trends, providing recommendations to adjust benefit offerings where necessary.
- Support employees on leave of absence matters, coordinating with external vendors to ensure a seamless experience.
- Help administer wellness programs and initiatives aimed at promoting employee health and well-being.
- Analyze claims data and industry trends to make recommendations for benefit plan design improvements.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in benefits administration
- Familiarity with self-insured benefit plans is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs and associated legal/regulatory requirements.
- Proficient with Workday benefits administration, and strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees across all organizational levels.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee data.
- Knowledge of benefits-related regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA is preferred.
- Professional certification in benefits administration (e.g., CEBS) is a plus.
