Accentuate Staffing has an immediate Direct Hire opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the Fuquay Varina area. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for supervision of all accounting staff and financial functions for a large division of a publicly traded company. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process, reporting requirements to corporate, and will assist in the preparation of periodic forecasts and annual budgets. This position will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a process to record transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget and performance analysis of profit centers
- Review and record journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity
- Preparation of paperwork supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
- Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
- Preparation of monthly financial statements
- Maintenance of the Cost Accounting Process
- Financial Analysis of the results, developing trends and processes to help improve the profitability of the Company
- Maintenance of fixed asset records and coordinate quarterly inventory of fixed assets
- Preparation and implementation of corporate policies and procedures such as invoice processing, cash management and calculation of fees
- Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Accurate and timely production of all financial information
- Oversight and supervision of accounting department (2-4 Direct Reports)
- Other responsibilities that may be assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar field
- 5+ years of experience in the accounting and finance sector
- Prior Supervisory experience desired
- Positive business demeanor; team player
- Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Exceptional work ethic
