Accentuate Staffing is currently searching for a Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist for our growing International Client in Durham. This is a Direct Hire Opportunity offering a hybrid work schedule and great to assist management with administrative, accounting and operations duties. Duties of the position include typical accounting ledger entries (expenses, revenues, bank and credit cards reconciliation), preparing and maintaining financial records in an accurate, complete, and timely manner, providing support to managers and employees and assisting in daily office needs and general administrative activities.
Responsibilities:
- Keeping financial records up-to-date
- Maintaining accurate inventory counts
- Draft and review invoices
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial statements
- Processing business transactions
- Maintaining digital and physical records for document retention
- Handling bookkeeping and following accounting best practices
- Fact-checking invoices for payment and processing
- Maintaining sales ledger and general ledger
- Monitoring vendor statements, wire transfer requests, and other transactions
- Assisting the accounting manager with audits, forecasts, and other fiscal planning
- Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records
- Assisting in account analysis and account coding
- Reconciling account balances
- Processing billing adjustments and refunds
- Purchase of office supplies
- Collection mail, phone calls and e-mails as needed
- Assisting the financial administrator, financial department, executives, directors and the accounting manager as needed.
- Filing and maintaining all office related documents
- Mailing, shipping and other duties as needed
- Shipment of equipment and products
- Able to analyze financial records and transfer information
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize
- Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or an Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred
- Minimum two years of administrative, bookkeeping or accounting activities
- Strong Attention to detail
- Experience with QuickBooks (a plus)
