Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Payroll Assistant for our well established client in Raleigh. This is a 3-6 month temporary opportunity at this time but could be a great foot in the door opportunity as the company is busy and growing.
Responsibilities:
1. Reviews and enters new hires into payroll system.
2. Posting changes in pay and tax status, and other miscellaneous changes.
3. Creating and running payroll/HR reports upon demand or scheduled reports for benefits.
4. Posting other earnings for payment.
5. Initial trouble shooting of system errors
6. Assists with Time system management and works with locations to ensure time is recorded accurately
7. Corresponding with the payroll vendor in regards to payroll related issues.
8. Work with 3rd party vendor ensuring garnishments are entered and accurate.
9. Entering direct deposits.
10. Processing manual checks, severance, and vacations pays.
11. Entering terminations into the payroll system.
12. Calculating retro earnings and hours, as well as pro-rated pays as needed
13. Works closely with location management to ensure accurate payroll processing.
14. Works with Field HR during acquisitions to ensure accurate initial data loads and helps to clean up acquisition data once loaded.
15. Reviews payroll reports, works to resolve issues as well as works with Tax Specialist to resolve any tax issues.
16. Proactively look for best practices within payroll process.
Requirements:
1. Minimum education required-High school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum experience required-1-2 years payroll processing or general accounting experience.
3. Special skills required-Good math aptitude, multi-tasking within high time-constraint environment. Excellent customer service.
4. Confidentiality requirement–High
5. Other-Computer literate.
6. Other Duties as assigned by management.
7. Responding to payroll related questions from customers.
8. Escheats, banking reconciliations, and posting of checks.
