Responsibilities:

• Provides assistance to the Controller in the day-to-day supervision of Accounting Operations (such as payroll, AP, AR, Cash Applications)
• Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis for advanced accounting matters such as software capitalization, capital leases, commissions calculation, and software as a service (SaaS) revenue recognition
• Performs GAAP research and GAAP application as requested
• Supports internal and external audit and tax engagements
• Meet deadlines for journal entries, account reconciliations, financials, and audit/tax requests
• Takes a lead role in various accounting projects including systems upgrades, internal control reviews, etc
• Serves as backup to Controller and mentors less experienced staff

Requirements:

• BS in Accounting; Masters in Accounting preferred
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 5+ years related experience in accounting or finance; ideally with a mix of public and private industry experience
• Advanced EXCEL skills (proficient with Vlookups, pivot tables, complex if/then statements, etc)
• ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, MS Dynamics) experience required
• Strong financial modeling skills
• Revenue Recognition experience with a SaaS company required
• Strong documentation skills (workpapers, processes, controls, variance explanations, etc)
• Systems Implementation experience
